I just read Psalm 51, which was written right after the prophet Nathan came to David after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba. It's so interesting, because David's prayer sounds exactly like one of my prayers after I have messed up, hurt others, sinned. There's a hint of worry that maybe this time God won't forgive me. Maybe this time I've screwed up too badly. But God always does. He did with David...and David was known as a man after God's own heart, a man who truly sought to know the heart of God. It gives me a lot of hope - I can't believe God really forgives everything we do wrong. It's pretty amazing.
